Elm Home Design
Emily is the owner and creative mind at Elm Home Design. I had the privilege of working with her to develop the brand for her business. She wanted a logo that conveyed the experience her studio would bring. She works hard to create a fun and stress free experience for her clients, while ensuring that they receive the best quality design and outcome. Her goal is to always be honest and to complete a project exactly as expected.
“Forever Letter” was a personal project that spawned from the excitement of my wife surprising me with tickets to a hand lettering conference in Salt Lake City.
Letter Your Life
“Letter Your Life” was a fun little personal project on simple animation. I had recently purchased an iPad Pro and wanted to experiment with making fun, monoline, wiggling animation.

Pants Don't Fit
This hand lettered piece came from the realization that as I entered into my late 20s that exercise was no longer some thing I could put off and rely on my “youthful” genes to stay in shape. Now exercise has become an important part of my life for my physical and mental health.
I must Create
Proin facilisis elit vitae mollis faucibus. Proin vitae massa nec mauris dictum consequat. Maecenas congue non felis a malesuada. Phasellus ullamcorper laoreet felis eu viverra. In at tincidunt tortor. Praesent tempor eros vitae elit dignissim, vitae elementum dui dapibus. Duis tristique, ligula eget lobortis accumsan, nibh enim venenatis urna, a commodo elit ex ac urna.
I created this hand letter 16 and incorporated it into a invitation for my sister-in-law’s 16th birthday party.
Have A Rice Day!
I was contacted by a work friend who new the owner of Joy of Tokyo. The owner was looking to replace a koi fish illustration with the menu for the hibachi restaurant. He wanted something fun and playful and this is what we came up with. I did a sketch on my iPad Pro and then from there implemented it on the chalk wall.
Be sure to check out the time lapse videos below to see the entire process. Also, a huge shoutout goes to my amazing wife and assistant! Thanks girl!

Lettered the word design just for fun. It’s what I do.
Maybe I’ll print some t-shirts next, who knows?
Victory Over Death
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sign of Strength
Early in my career I saw asking for help when I needed it as a weakness. I didn’t want anyone to know I didn’t know how to do something I felt I should be able to do. Now my perspective has shifted. If I find myself wanting to try something new I try to find someone who’s done it before and talk through it with them or have them show me how to do it. Yes, it’s still scary/hard for me to ask for help but I no longer see it as a “fault” in my abilities but as an opportunity for growth and to build new relationships.
